The Race was organized by Jesse Dale Reily (USA) and Bernie Farmer (Australia) during the Australian summer. Runners had to face 110F, a very basic race organization and stages up to 58 miles. The race went 2656.6 miles/4274,5 km from Perth to Kalgoorlie, through the Nullarbor Desert to Port Augusta, Adelaide, Melbourne to the Australian capital Canberra. The Russian ultra runner Anatoli Kruglikov won with an overall pace of 8.4 miles/hour, that is a 3:10 Marathon 97 times in a row!

Trans Germany Race - Deutschlandlauf 1998

The german ultrarunner Ingo Schulze organized the Deutschland Lauf /Trans Germany Race the first time in fall 1998. In 2010 will be the 6th and last edition of the Trans Germany Race.
